The Petzl Tikkina is a HYBRID headlamp, meaning it comes with three standard batteries and is also compatible with the Petzl CORE rechargeable battery. I wasn't after advice on which head torch I should get. Both would be good replacements for your tikka, though the reactiks are lithium ion batteries (optional crossover kit for AAA, or spare Li-ion batteries available). Personally, I've never had a problem with using them for weekend missions, or longer trips where I'm not expecting to use them for long durations each day. If you get caught out in a shower, the Tactikka is rated IPX4, therefore it'll resist light to medium showers of rain before anything begins to pass through.
