About this deal

The Straw Hat crew makes a pit stop at the oceangoing restaurant the Baratie, where the cooks are as rough-and-tumble as the pirates who frequent it. I've watched the anime as far as the Alabasta arc - which is still only about 10% in to the total story that exists to date - and am OBSESSED. But I can't say it's very good either, and if it is then I clearly don't know how to engage with it. and since he's so supernaturally powerful, he can actually make that work for him in a world where most pirates are genuinely nasty and dangerous. While Luffy battles it out with the evil Croc in the royal tombs, Vivi and the rest of the Straw Hats have to find the bomb before it blows up the capital–with everyone in it!

I confess I chuckled whenever he came up with a "Crap Geezer" line, since I'm apparently a 12 year old! They clearly respect each other’s skills, can work very effectively together, and even have a lot of shared values. While Luffy battles it out with the evil Croc in the royal tombs, Vivi and the rest of the Straw Hats have to find the bomb before it blows up the capital with everyone in it! La historia de Nami y la de Sanji, al igual que me ha pasado en el live-action, es la que llega a emocionarme fuerte por primera vez y hacerme sentir más cercana a este grupo de descerebrados.

This is someone who has been pushing themselves to be strong and take on a heavy burden alone overcoming their fear, and finally trusting that maybe these other people are actually willing and able to help; that they only have to ask. Again, a lot of the action scenes went over my head a little as I find my eyes just can't focus well on these types of illustrations, but overall I got the jist. I liked some of the Nami and Sanji stuff, but I didn't feel like we got much of the crew working together like we did in the first one.

One Piece 3-in-1 Omnibus Series by Eiichiro Oda - Goodreads

It's the scene of a larger-than-life battle in which giants, pirates, dinosaurs and strange birds duke it out in the name of honor, friendship and dynamite-spiked beverages.

Ok, so, I liked this volume better than the last one, but I don't know if I like it better than the first one. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins.

One Piece (3-in-1 Edition) Volume 6: Includes vols. 16, 17

I don't think every story needs death to be meaningful, and I'll happily defend Moffat's 'Everybody Lives' Doctor Who run til the stars go out, because at least in Doctor Who, death isn't really the focus.Morgan and the Marines go to kill Zoro and Koby, and Zoro remembers the promise he made to his deceased friend Kuina. I don't know if I can say with a straight face that one Piece as a whole is a dire series, so fans can put away the pitchforks please. BUT, then I realized that in the chapter where his name is first mentioned, we (and presumably the translators) were not presented with either of those facts, nor would the number of references to other adventure stories have been obvious. Volume 9 is the best one so far with a major character build-up and fascinating story, and volume 6 follows second because it was so fun.
